Bonus buy slots let you pay a fixed multiple of your stake to trigger a game's bonus round immediately, instead of waiting for scatters to land in the base game. Direct buys start at 70x your stake and run to 2,000x on the deepest menus. Below: what you pay, what you can win, and the RTP behind every buy at 21.
A bonus buy - also called a feature buy - is a button that purchases direct entry into a slot's bonus round. Set your stake, pay the multiple, and the feature starts on the next spin.
The multiple tracks how rare the feature is. Punk Rocker 3 opens its Blitzkrieg Spins at 70x. Mental charges 1,000x for its top round.
Same mechanic, different ceiling. Most games sell several tiers, and each one buys a different bonus.
Three things sit behind the same kind of button, and only one of them is a bonus buy. Worth knowing before you spend.
This is where cheap headline prices come from. Le Bandit advertises a 3x option and SixSixSix a 10x one, but neither buys a bonus round - they improve your odds of reaching one. Le Bandit's actual bonus buy is 100x.
Sweet Bonanza 1000's ante bet costs +25% and roughly doubles the trigger rate, from about 1 in 450 spins to 1 in 225. Cheaper per spin, slower to arrive.
Direct bonus buys only - odds enhancers are excluded. Sorted by maximum win, cheapest tier shown.
RTP is configurable - providers ship each slot with several bands and the operator selects one. The figures above are the bands 21 runs. The game's info panel is the record.
Dead or Alive 3 caps at 33,333x in normal play. The cap doubles to 66,666x when the 5x Wanted Wilds option is active.
Five worth knowing:
Zeus vs Hades: Gods of War and Fruit Party carry buys too, at 75x and 100x. The full Pragmatic Play range has more.
More across slots and Megaways.
Feature buys are restricted or removed in some jurisdictions, so the button won't appear on every title in every market. Set a deposit limit before you start. Buy costs compound fast at high stakes.
A buy doesn't improve your edge. It changes the shape of your session.
Buy-RTP is configured separately from base-game RTP and can land either side of it. San Quentin xWays runs 96.03% in the base game and 96.95% on its 2,000x buy. That gap doesn't rescue the maths - you're staking 2,000x per round instead of 1x, so the amount you expect to lose on each buy is far larger than on a single spin.
Variance is what actually shifts. A 100x buy spends 100 spins of budget in one go, and the feature can return less than it cost. Often it does.
That's the trade: fewer, bigger decisions instead of many small ones. Volatility, not value. Know the number before you press it.
